That level of "something being wrong" is up to the the user's eyes and expectation set by their previous experiences in life, and it sucks to find out when you realize the reality does not live up to the expectations (not just some computer hardwares but for anything in life). (if anyone ended up on this post via google searches, it's because their testing methodolgy for multiplayer is inconsiderate of the actual playing experience in favor of run to run consistency, especially csgo)

I also remember a lot of people who couldn't deal with reality going around asking what's wrong with their setup and why they are not getting 500fps+ like youtube tech channel's benchmarks. People were really bummed out that their better than intel's outdated 14nm tech couldnt keep up 240fps like half of the time.

I feel you on that but remember release of 2700x. If performance with that install of Windows isn't sufficient, then something is wrong. If someone could help me find the correct sources I would be really thankful.Īnyone with good hardware (recent gen, last 3 years) should be getting more than enough performance with a standard Windows install. I'm interested into diving deeper into the understanding on input lag correlation with resolutions and anything else that affects input lag. Would I benefit if for example I'm running the game on 720p ? Would emulators like Final Burn Neo (fightcade 2) benefit if I play the game on 480p ? Is there anything else ? Or a guide around how to get it done ?Īnother question that I have ever since I heard people talking about 480hz and input lag tests on 4k for consoles (have higher lag than 1080p), do lower resolution benefit in lower lag on PC too ? I own a Dell S2721DGF a 1440p, 165hz monitor (mistake at the time as my PC is not strong enough for 1440p games). SO recently (I have been playing fighting games), I overclocked my controller, I have my monitor on 165hz, the Nvidia driver settings on Low input lag option. But i never knew you could optimize the computer for lowest input latency as possible. I have been an enthusiast of high refresh rate monitors ever since 2012.
